Calling Ron C

Post by JohnCranston »

Hey Ron,

I am meeting Brian Barragy in Bacliff tomorrow to look at my boat. Looks like the fiberglass work is aboutn done.

What is the name of the place in San Leon that has the BBQ oysters and all around fun action?

I know it is late in the game, but maybe I will get your reponse before I head down there,

Gilhooley's

Post by Capt. Mike Holmes »

John, a girl I used to know always bragged about the oysters at Gilhooley's, don't know if that was supposed to be a hint or not.

How did the boat progress look? I did a quick haul on mine Tuesday, getting close to breaking the jetties. Want to go on the first marlin trip on Black Sheep? I'll need a good crewman. Or two.

Talked to Durwood Tuesday. He's pulling the 215 Cummins out of his "big" boat and putting them in the smaller boat (giving up on the common rail Cummins truck engines due to computer problems). In the bigger boat, he's going with C series Cumins, at 450 hp per side.

Don't get in his way!

Those oysters are good and go down reeeeel easy with a few cold ones. Wish I could have met up with y'all but had to do some work around the house, as I will not be around much for a few weeks ;-)

Capt. give a shout if you need crew. I will be fishing ROC, TIFT, Ledgends/Bertram 31 Texas(same time), TWAT and then off. I might could do a day trip early in the week but not sure yet.

Tourneys

Post by Capt. Mike Holmes »

Rob,

Wish I'd known you would be fishing ROC, I had planned to cover it, and was looking for a ride to shoot pictures. As it turns out, I have to go to New Orleans Sunday, so that kills that one, but I'd like to attend the B31 event on August 11. If you have room for another who would try not to get in the way and pitch in his share, I'd love to try to get some pics for articles I'm working on.

When I get ready for a run deep out of Freeport on my boat, I'll definitely give you a shout.

We will be heading out on Thurs and returning on Sat, so we can get in the most fishing. I am not sure how this will work for the Texas B31? Do you know the rules or a contact?
