Gunnel Locker Doors

Post by GaryG »

Howdy all,
I am making fiberglass gunnel lockers for my B38, and am wondering what to fabricate the doors with (glassing lockers to the cockpit/hull) - the doors will be 48"wide x 12" tall.

I have seen a number of builders using a dense (solid) plastic material (often painted/lp'd) for cockpit locker doors that seems to be quite rigid/tough in 1/2"+ thicknesses.

Anyone know what material is ?

Any other recommendations ?

Thanks!

Gary,

Most probably cast acrylic, (Plexiglas is one mfg). Dimensionally stable & very paintable...
