I'm getting ready to install the Delco EST system. My starboard engine has a Mallory distributor with electronic ignition conversion kit inside the distributor. Looking at the wiring in the attached picture, I have:
negative terminal:
- black wire goes to the distributor.
- dark brown wire, I assume, is for the tach
positive terminal:
- yellow wire is 12 volts from the ignition switch
- red wire to the distributor
- two light brown wires
Any ideas what these last two are for?

Re: Ignition system wiring
Sometimes the terminal I on the starter feeds ignition on start, trace back.
Someone also could have pulled two wires off feeding other items, electric choke, electric fuel pump, etc. Nothing should be fed from the + side of coil Back track wires to find out.
