Welcome aboard, SeaDog!

The Bertram 20s typically came with the inline 6 cylinder GM 250 CI block rated at 165 HP, and they had a reputation for being both reliable and economical to run. There is also an inline 6 rated at 160 HP, but I do not know the specs or why the 5 HP difference. One B-20 Bahia Mar owner reported propping his boat to achieve 4300 RPMs at WOT, which gave him a speed of 34 MPH. Every owner I’ve known loved the setup in their 20 Bertrams since they fit well in the engine compartment and the boat is well balanced at rest.
