Imgur

Post by Yannis »

I tried to post some pics through Imgur, and it is asking to get rid of my ad bloc so it can let me access the upload function.
Since I will not let go of the ad bloc, does anybody know of another uploading platform which is not having absurd demands?

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all.

Yannis - I use Flickr.com - works pretty well, free, seems to interact well the last time I posted pics. Best of luck.

Thanx Bob, I'll give it a try, enjoy the holidays(?) , they were last called that name, not this year...we're all in quarantine No 2, managed to at last get down to the boat after more than 40 days, on a semi-false justification...I might have convinced the cops if they stopped me, but luckily they didn't...

Which browser and ad blocker are you using?

Normally you can select which sites you want the ad blocker to block and which ones it can let through. Check your add blockers options.

Hotspot,

ABP AdblockPlus on Google. Hope it makes some sense...

Tony, same to you and your family!
And yes, it may offer the option to block some sites over others, but I'm not willing to start amusing myself by allowing it to do this...

Hi Yannis

Did you ever have any luck with getting Imgur working?

I tried the same configuration with Ad Blocker Plus and Chrome (for Mac) with the most restrictive ad block settings enabled. With these restrictive settings I am able to load pics with no problems. So, it’s not that Imgur is getting cute with ad blocking policy.

Maybe download and install the latest chrome version and adblocker extension.

Another thought is that although you want the adblocker enabled, it may be useful to adjust the Imgur site settings in ADBlocker briefly as a test to see if it will start working. You could revert them when done.

Good luck!

Hotspot,

Too busy with x-mas and cooking...although we're in full quarantine again.
I will try to crack it soon, but all these computer things irritate me, I procrastinate as much as possible!
Thanks for your interest, I'll let you know.
Happy new year (well, that won't be too difficult after 2020...) to everyone!

I signed up to flickr but there is no indication on how I can upload a picture.
Plus I’m not in facebook so I don't know which of all the many flickr sites I should get started with...
Why do they always break my goals?

Some progress...I don't like the fact that one sees the whole 9 yards of my account, I would like to show just the picture...
Anyway, happy new year guys, may 2021 be better in all aspects.
Below a pic of our traditional New Year’s pie. There’s a coin in there, who gets it is supposed to be lucky for the year!
