Re: Never Forget
Yes, Never Forget!
This was a horrible day and I know many of us knew people who were victims. May god rest their souls. I saw it first hand as an FDNY Firefighter and I can unfortunately say that "I saw hell on earth". I am sure I am among others on this forum that saw it first hand as well. My life changed after that time and I make sure I do things in my life that matter to me bc you just never know...
All 3 of my children are post 9/11, that is how lucky I was...

Re: Never Forget
A tough day for sure. I knew some fresh people who did not make it. God rest all their souls.

Never forget!
Re: Never Forget
mentally the worst day of my life.i heard the fireman as they realize they had 10 to 15 minutes to live and the collar worn radio was the only communication due to tower number one going down with the huge 911 antenna on top so all communication were "bounce" off microwave local antenna. i was in the war room 11' under concrete as government contractor who happen to be there installing new generator for Nassau county 911.

Re: Never Forget
scenarioL113,
Thanks so much for your heroic efforts that horrible day! I was supposed to be in Manhattan that morning, but was delayed by one day. I ended up flying over Ground Zero 6 days later in an empty airplane. Next morning, I was several blocks inside of the press corp line for the minute of silence they had (one week to the second after the first plane struck the tower.) I remember looking up at the smoking pile of rubble, with so many bodies still in it, and vowing to never forget what those extremists did to our country. It seems like many have forgotten---I never will.
