Ford GT

Post by Dug »

I thought of you today Mike O!

Driving down the road on my way back from lunch, I allowed a Ford GT to pass me (it was not a highway, so it was by choice). I am keenly aware that if that guy wanted to, it would not have been up to me.

But what a cool looking car...

Red and white.

So cool.

I am beginning to wonder about the neighborhood...

Today the GT, and I agree, very sharp. Your friend should bring it to Montauk. Pardon me, but I want a ride!!!! Please?

Yesterday on the way to work I got passed by an Aston Martin DB9 going the other way. Another beautiful ride...

And this is in Worcester of all places!

Screw the gt40, all a real man needs is a F350 4x4 diesel(or for a less
manly man it's van counterpart) NOBODY ever been scared by a tailgating sports car, pretty sure the same can't be said of the people in the fast lane that didn't relize they were in the wrong pratice.

Awe Timmy....

The sports car just drives around the F350.... Nothing to it!

F350 ? You stepping up Tim ?

The ford gt is cool- I got a ride in the carbon fiber Porsche GT. Suffice it to say ride of a lifetime.

Having had some fast cars and knowing how they enticed me to behave it's probably a good thing Thudd is sticking to trucks.

Good eye Randall !

The original GT40 was 40" tall, the repop a little taller. The new height makes it a little easier for a non race car driver with a fat wallet to get into.

But the lines are pretty much the same.

You guys might like the GTTT. It has twin turbos and makes over 1000hp. Found some video of it online awhile back and it is very impressive. Makes my 500 hp 306 look like a toy. Someday I will dump the centrifigal blower and go with twin turbo. Going to need another job to afford it though.

The original gt40's show up at some of the vintage races like the Jefferson 500 @ Summit Point Raceway. Pretty awesome to look thru the back window down at all those vellocity stacks on the intake. The originals were very cool.

Drove an original at VIR or Summit Point in the 60's. Of all the racing machines I have driven over the years that is undoubtedly the sexiest. Just this discussioin gives me the old Johnson salute. Whew!
Scuse me, I'll be right back . . .

Tim,
No, I will not sell the Hyena to you. I know how much you adore it but just not ready to sell it.

come on, I could pull those motors, repower the proffs 20 on LI, repower my new 20, that I've taken for the yard bill owed on storage by the previous owner, thake the hyena boat and add to the artificial reef program of 31 berts(that the tubb may soon join)

Tim,
Got some good pics of the hyena during the tournament. They were taken from my buddies 48 hatt as I crossed over his bow wake and passed him while heading to the fishing grounds. I can send them to you:)
