Airmar transducer adapter

Has anyone successfully swapped electronics without changing a thru hull transducer? The new boat had a northstar 6100i with the airmar b260 transducer and we would like to keep the transducer but upgrade to new Garmin electronics.

I did it from Garmin to Simrad. Bought the Simrad Junction Box.
Sea Hunt Triton 207, a step down, but having fun till my next Bertram!
