Bonding Fasteners

Post by Joseph Fikentscher »

I cant seem to find any bronze bolts to fasten the larger zinc to the stern of the boat, trying to follow Capt Pat's advice. No one carries them in the Manasquan area. Will stainless work?

What size are you looking for?

Are you glassing them into the hull with the ends sticking out the stern?

Mike, basically yes. Was going to make the connection to the bonding strip, then use a sealant betweenwashers and nuts to the Hull with an extra nut for a spacer and then mount the zinc to the studs.

That link has some 3/8" 16 bronze hex heads to 6" and 1/2" 13 to 4 inches.

Joe

For future reference the Bolt Depot has a great selection on stainless and silicon bronze. They are usually my go too for screws and bolts.
