Merry Christmas and Happy Hanakkah

I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday. Time to take time, reflect on life and enjoy the family.

And a prayer for those that have gone before us.

Don't worry about the spelling... There are at least 3 common spellings in English that I'm aware of and they're all correct as there are no rules as to how foreign language words should be transliterated...

Hanukkah
Chanukah
Ḥanukah

Happy holidays to ALL!...

Have not seen a post for the Australian member or New Zealand member in quite a while. But rest assured, there will be those in your own country who celebrate before you do.

Tony,

Given the .....extraordinary size of Greece, we're all in just one time zone!
So we all celebrate at the same time - so to speak!

I took Tony's statement to mean some start early...or as Jimmy Buffet sings "It's 5' Oclock somewhere...

Great...this prize I win, maybe a change of luck.
Till now, I couldn't win betting on two horses in a one horse race.

I did have a winning streak once at the track. Went to dinner with friends, after losing a couple badly I was getting some ribbing from friends. So I found a way to win. Yep, I placed bets on every horse to win. They caught on after the 2nd or 3rd race I won...it was fun while it lasted.

Yannis,
...its the New Year. That is the one of those times it is ok to look back and reflect a bit.

Otherwise its one foot in front of the other in a forward direction.

Great job!... I'd give you an authentic magnetic compass (sorry, no binnacle) to go with it but shipping (from Israel) would be ludicrous!...

Haven't been to the track in years. I used to go with my father when I was a teenager.

Tony- I have been to the track exactly twice in my life. Once my neighbor brought me when I was in grade school, he was big on horse races. The 2nd was when I went with a group of friends from the marina years ago. One of which grew up at the tracks, his parents went to the track, Atlantic city or Vegas most weekends. So he laughed at my 1st couple bets...but after back to back wins he was stumped and intrigued....for a few seconds anyway.

I really don't win cause I really don't bet. I'd rather go out to dinner, go offshore, sit on the back of the boat, have a drink or take dog for a walk. I'm not opposed to it, just don't get enjoyment from it like some do. To each his or her own....

Back to merry Christmas...and Happy New Year!!

only 21 more days of Obama.
