Conversion to diesel photos

Post by Amberjack »

Hello All--There's been a lot of discussion about the steps involved in conversion from gas to diesel. Amberjack had it done several years ago, it worked out well and I have a complete portfolio of images from the conversion including replacing the engine stringers with fabricated aluminum and fabrication of a new fiberglass cockpit sole (it turned out beautifully). Anyone is welcome to them and if you reach out to me with an email address I'll forward them from my Gmail account.

Why not just upload them to a free Photobucket account and post them here?

Mike, you're right. I've been lazy about setting up a photo bucket account but I'll see about doing it this weekend.

Yeah, I was hesitant too. But 5 minutes and your done.

Then upload once and be done...unless a real big collection to which I think you can link.

If not, I love pictures, diesel conversion on my radar screen , I'd love to see pictures.

Everyone that has requested them should have received both sets of photos but if I missed you let me know. I established a Dropbox account but am having trouble loading the zip files in my Gmail account to Dropbox so I've been forwarding them direct from Gmail while I get that sorted out.

AJ,
I was patiently waiting for the pics to pop up on the site.... But disappointedly I will ask that you email them to me also... Rawicklund@aol.com. On a good note I'm glad to find others as technology challenged as myself when it comes to posting pictures. A B31 in the PNW is a rare find..... Have you seen any others in your area?

I saw a B28 trolling off of Browns Point 2 years ago.... And another B28 in a lake Union marina but that's it.

I'm a native of the PNW ( Kent, Des Moines, Federal Way) .... Moved down south 35 years ago, but still visit family a couple times a year up north.

I'm planning on a diesel conversion for my 31, but I have a 28 that I use for howdy boating and bar hopping, so it's a back burner project...looking fwd to seeing your pics..... And I might leave a note on your boat if I see it on one of my marina stalking trips.

Ray--the pictures will arrive in two zip files shortly. They focus more on the cockpit and engine area tear out and rebuild than the more purely mechanical stuff but you should be able get the mechanical input from others.

There are a surprising number of B31's in the Seattle area. My wife counted seven listed in Seattle Yacht Club directory alone. And they are definitely recognized up here--Amberjack gets at least one shout out every time we're out on the water.

Let me know next time you're in the neighborhood.
