Some Pics from My companies Simrad Demo Boat

Post by bsmart »

I have been working on rehabbing my ‘86 Bertram 31 that will serve as my companies Simrad Demo boat. She is a “work in progress” but some cool before and after shots.

If anyone needs anything related to Marine Electronics just reach out and we can help.

Looks good. I'll need one of everything for the B25 over the next year. I'm relatively local - No Va.

Ironic timing. I just purchased the StructureScan HD side scan for my NSS8 today. Can't wait to try it out.

Our fire department's rescue boat has some electronics that are getting rather long in the tooth - how about sending some of that stuff north for real world testing?

I loved the NSS8 that I put on my boat last year, that it now has a twin sitting right next to us. Yes, I know it doesn't have all the evo2 bells and whistles, but for $700 at Defender's spring sale, I don't care -- As I've gotten older my eyes appreciate having an 8" radar side by side with an 8" chartplotter. The only complain I have -- the manual is not very friendly on using all the features of the network expansion -- for example, the only way I found to set up the additional machine so it wouldn't cancel the echosounder on the original was to look through thehulltruth.com -- the manual didn't go through any of those types of steps.

Wow, for 700 I would have bought another one. I checked last week and prices seemed to be around 1100 still.
The machines are very capable. I have not even scratched the surface of what it can do. Like you said, the manual is bare bones and you just have to dig around.
