the 28 is coming together

Post by yardpro »

sorry i have not pics...

So far i have removed the ethanol degraded fuel tank, replaced the rotted center of the bulkhead, removed and replaced the rotted motor mount stringer o n the starboard side.

we removed the old broken mini fridge, cleaned the interior... came out great.....

the entire bilge has been cleaned several times de-greased and is almost ready for paint.

two motors are sitting in my shop ready to swap out tins, transmissions, etc.....

Left to do:

re wire all grounds
replace stuffing boxes
fix cruiseair
add bilge pump and begin re- wiring, switch replacement.

sand and paint bottom

build teak swim platform

Would love to see the progress via photos. You might want to consider the PSS shaft seals instead of the traditional stuffing boxes. I have had mine 8 years with no maintenance in my B28. I just repowered last year and did many of the items you mentioned. Satisfaction! Best of luck.

Definitely get some pictures if you can. Its always cool to see the build threads. Sounds like your winding it up so its almost time to enjoy all the work.
