N C Bertram Rendezvous (14th Annual)

Post by Rapscallion »

The North Carolina "faithful" will gather on May 29 and 30 for the 14th Annual N C Bertram Rendezvous. The event includes cocktails and dinner at Causeway Marina on Friday evening. An open ocean run to Cape Lookout on Saturday AM with a private climb event of the monumental Cape Lookout lighthouse (google Cape Lookout National Seashore), followed by a social and lunch at a private compound on Harker's Island, NC, home of some of the finest "Carolina" boatbuilders) more information, contact Lin Spears (B-31 RAPSCALLION - hull # 926) at 910-228-8456 or rapscallion31@ec.rr.com. We would love to have B 31 faithful from all over be part of our event.

Good idea! And, may I add, caps too.
If any of those will ever be available, I'm interested.
Thanks.

I probably won't be able to come to the meet (currently in Israel as my princess is having her Bat Mitzvah) but I would definitely sign up for a shirt and/or cap...

I have seen two requests for BERTRAM gear (shirts, hats, etc.). On a limited basis, the NC Rendezvous Committee has short and long sleeve custom T Shirts, Hats and Visors. Long sleeve T's are $25, Short sleeve $20, and hats/visors are $20. New for 2015 are extra large bath towels (white and blue) with custom BERTRAM embroidery for $25. Add $2 for shipping stateside. All proceeds go to NC Bertram 31 for support of member interests.

For us non-NC residents, would there be a mail address for communication/ordering?
Calling is a difficult thing when you're 6-7 hours ahead.
Perhaps PayPal instead of checks?
Thanks.

Would trade grappa for hats if possible. Also, trying to get a good Barolo from Italy is more impossible than smuggling a nuclear device.

Terry,

Choose your grappa and Barolo and I'll find it and send it over.

The thing is what happens with the Immigration guys once the parcel arrives in the U.S.. Do they just throw it away, as food and beverages are prohibited, do they take it home and drink it on behalf of the suckers' , or do they dispatch it to you?

Typically the goods are confiscated. Not really sure what happens next but I bet that the customs officials have some private parties with good food and drink. Just an asumption on my part. Thanks for offering!

I don't think I will be able to make it this year, but am still trying to weasel out of another commitment I made months ago.

I have been to two so far, and had a great time at both.. the hospitality and venue were fantastic!
