gave some serious through to additional firepower on my 31. they are very similar man of wars but the North Carolina is slightly larger. although the NC battleship and the 31 bertram can navigate the same seas i just cannot fit those 16" guns on foredeck---------------oh well

Years ago somebody posted the picture from the Miami newspaper, with the B31 with a 30cal mounted on the back deck.....it took a trip down to Cuba and sprayed a hotel full of bullets.....

Anybody still have a copy of that picture?

Terrorism by any definition... The sole exception would be if the hotel had been commandeered for military purposes (barracks, HQ etc)... Now, if they had sprayed a Cuban military installation I would have been applauding... I believe that one has the right to fight for what one believes in... Including taking up arms... The flip side is that when one choses armed fight one HAS to abide by the laws of warfare!... Otherwise one loses all legitimacy IMHO... Guerrilla type warfare does not HAVE to resort to terrorist tactics...

I wish you had let us know when you were coming to Wilmington.. we live about 10 miles from the battleship. It is one of the main things we take visitors to when they are here. During the summer months they show classic movies on the bow and we often pack up a couple of lawn chairs and for just a couple of bucks we have an evening out. I have sat directly under the guns in the pictures you posted above.

We have a couple of spare rooms and a well stocked refrigerator, so we are ready to accommodate visitors.

Anyone from this forum is welcome, so if anyone is going to be in the area just let us know when you will be here and we can play host and tour guide.

brothers thank you for the offers. the bride went to some 15 or so antique shops in Wilmington to purchase 12 chair mahogany dining table for client so i amused myself with trip to NC. battleship.and a trip to Carolina Beach.went to Virginia Beach and bride disapproved even with room on top floor of Hilton facing the ocean! (wild crowd on boardwalk and fast food crap) i notice this women had corvette shoes.

If you went to Carolina Beach you had to cross the Snow's Cut bridge.. we are exactly 1 mile north of the bridge.. in fact you passed about 500 feet from my house which is just off Carolina Beach Road. Sorry we weren't able to meet.

Actually i was innocently hanging out with my "bro" and she walk by and i notice her shoes so we had a corvette conversation.turns out she owned a 1982 c-3 corvette and as i spoke i kept my eye out for the bride whom was antique shop browsing . i go with her in new england because they have all sorts of nautical stuff but in the South-------------boring they even hide the old stars and bars flags --------damn shame but they have nazi WW11 stuff occasionally .
