Shaft struts

Post by twonahil »

My "70" b31 has 1 3/8" shafts. Will struts take 1 1/2" shafts if I replace cutlass bearing?

Yes. The original struts are bored to 1 7/8" for a standard 1 3/8" bearing. You'll need to have them over-bored to 2" for 1 1/2" thin wall bearing by a qualified under water gear machinist and him install the bearings. If installing Duramax™ the I.D. is 1 1/2" and the O.D. 2" & the Buck Algonquin designation is "BOSS"
