Will Beretta lose the next Army pistol contract?

Post by IRGuy »

The article is really an ad for Motley Fool, but it will be interesting what the Army finally decides on for it's next handgun contract.

"The Army is looking for a metal-framed, modular, .45 ACP pistol that is capable of being fired accurately and controllably by the widest number of soldiers possible".

Sorry, but if your soldiers can't shoot a 9mm accurately and controllably, they sure as hell ain't gonna be shootin a .45acp even using a 180grn vs a 230 grn round.

All they have to do, but never will because of sheer stupidity is look to civilian law enforcement and the dismal accuracy when they used .38 specials, then went to 9mm for more capacity, then went to .40sw for more stopping power. Unless you are a member of one of the elite teams, standard military training isn't going to help just like standard academy training sucks.

There is no, zero, zilch substitute for extensive and proper firearms training when it comes to accuracy and controllability. The miracle gun doesn't exist that makes a Chris Kyle out of everyone.

Any firearms instructor worth a crap will tell you shot placement is the key and that only comes from training, more training and just when you think your done add some more training.

Typical military cluster ****. Stupidity reins supreme when you attach brass to your collar.
