The Kings Caddy

Post by acarb »

This is one we just finished up for a museum up in Tennessee. 1968 Coupe Deville formally owned by Elvis.
The car is headed to a Barrett Jackson and scheduled to run through sat the 21st of this month.
The fuel turned so bad that it seized all the intake valves.

I am part of a dying breed of mechanics making a living rebuilding carburetors. We see quite a bit of older stuff like this.
This particular customer owned a museum filled with different cars and trucks once owned by country music and tv stars.
The Caddy here is the second Elvis vehicle I have done for them, first one being a 66 gmc truck. The cars sit without cranking and the tanks, fuel lines and carburetors gum up. I would imagine that most here can relate to the fuel problems I am referring to. This one was in much worse condition. The owner and his son are selling his collection off one at a time.

In case anyone was in any way interested.
The car went for 80k at the last Barrett Jackson auction. Lot #767
The customer wasn't pleased with the final bid but 80k is damn hard to get in this day.
