Helping to identify a mystery hull

As many of you know, I have been searching for a 14' to 16' Hunt designed hull to restore for my kids. I think that I may have found one, but there is no HIN number (must be pre 1973) .

It is going to cost me a lot more to transport it than to buy it, so I would like to know if it is actually a Hunt design. Based on the pictures it really looks like my 20 and my 25 with the way the lifting strakes tie into the hard chine, the considerable bow flair, slightly rounded keel going to a straight V section and the inner strake ending before the transom.

The deck looks pretty distinctive to me with the fore and aft running supports. It almost looks like a Grew, but I don't think it is one. Regardless of it's provenance, the hull form looks great to me and I'm pretty sure that I am going to buy in.

Anyone in K-Town feel like an all expenses paid drive to the west coast ;-) ?

I don't have a clue as who manufactured this boat, but I'll bet dollars to donuts that Ray Hunt never designed even a piece of it... Based on the fact that it's roughly 3,000 miles from you & doubtful Hunt, I'd keep looking, at least for something already on the west coast.

I don't think it's a Hunt design boat, the transom dead rise is not deep enough, more of a modified V hull to me. Like Capt. Pat said keep looking. Sort of looks like a 21' Well Craft to me. Also looks like she's got some water in the core at the transom (dis-colorization near the old transducer fitting) and the aluminum plate bolted to the transom is not an original factory item. Damage to the gel coat at starboard side under rail cap. Walk away.

The Anchorage in Warren RI built some early fiberglass Hunt designs http://dyerboats.com/
I believe they have kept good records and have some folks with long memories. Maybe they could help you in your search. I am <30 min away from there and will be pleased to help if I can.

Not sure I like the negative angle on the chine at the stern.

I am sure it provides some more lift, but seems to me it would really 'dig' in on a turn.
