Carl Darenberg

Post by Bertramp »

Just heard the very sad news that Carl Darenberg of Montauk Marine Basin passed away earlier today in montauk. He was a several time gift sponsor for our Greenport gatherings. I bought an old 41 Hatteras from his dad some 25 years ago. I said hi to him on saturday, just after looking at Walters boat in the marina.
A sad day for the east end .

The wake was last night, he will be buried today. A great guy and a friend to our club and the B31. If you have a copy of Walter's cookbook, note a picture of him with his Dad, taken when he was in his early twenties. Several months ago, I busted his chops about signing his picture ..... I wish that I had persisted.
