Steering Problem
I have 25 Bertram with V drives. The steering is cable. When the boat is at the dock the wheel turns lock to lock freely. However, when underway at cruise speed, I can turn to starboard with no problem. When turning to port, it take a tremendous amount of effort. When running through the creeks and ...

MPG Drop and the Dead Zone is growing
We now have this crap in GA. I noticed the sticker on the pump after filling up at BP. Started the car and the MPG went from 15.8 in town to 14.6. When you factor in the cost of food and everything else, we are getting screw without getting kissed. In addition to that insult the Atlanta paper had an...

Now it appears ethanol causes smog. Maybe we will get rid of this stuff someday, in spite of the lobbiest and all the money.

Could have, Should have..
bough corn futures, when this talk began. Then I could have afforded to redo my Bert with diesels, teak decks, new electronics, new Awlgrip and custom interior. Hind sight is always 20/20. With the price of corn soaring, we haven't even started to see the total fall out from this fiasco.

Craig I agree with Ron. I prefer to have the glass tanks. I have been looking into relining my tanks. I did not see where the resins in the link you showed have the UL 1316 listing for all fuels. The Interplastic's resin VE 8770 has this UL rating. The Interplastic web site list Composite One as a d...

Relining tanks
Joe I feel that relining the tanks with an ethanol resistant resin is possibly one of our best options. If a marine surveyor checks the fiberglass work in progress, this should that care of the insurance issues and also satisfies a buyer in the future. Insurance in South Florida with a 1969 boat, wi...

Bertram Gear
I ordered The Legend of Bertram for my son as a Christmas present. Book was shipped relatively fast but my credit card was charged twice. It took many calls and several months to get it corrected. I am afraid to order any thing else from these people.

Coating only works on steel
Great idea, but according to the company it only works on steel tanks.
