Re: Quick access gun safe-off topic
Mark, I'm the GM for V-Line ind. We make quick access cases designed with Simplex mechanical locks, no batteries to go dead or finger prints that can't be read. Our cases are made 100% at our facility here in Simi Valley CA. We have 2 heavy duty units made out of 10 and 12 gauge steel and are very d...

Goes into freefall after letting out 10' of rode and locks when reversing the motor. Unit ships with rode and chain. I use the windlass alot and very happy with its...

Re: Part identification...without photo!
Hi Kevin, Regarding the structural issue: This was my concern when I initially considered cutting the hump out. Tony Athens who did the repower 5 years ago insured to me it would not be a problem. To date and 15000+ nm later - no issues. We get some nasty seas here in the Santa Barbara channel and t...

Re: Part identification...without photo!
Hi Kevin, I cut out the hump in the low section forward and just aft of the engine room for ward bulk head. I did this to make the bilge pumps more effective. There is a piece of wood inside the hump. Mine was wet and we waited about 4 weeks to dry it out before re-glassing. http://i251.photobucket....

Re: Engine hatch hinge suggestions
Kevin,
Looks great installed. What are your plans for sealing on the main bulkhead side? I can't tell from the images, do you have a gutter on the backside or is it flush? Your making great progress.

Re: Engine hatch hinge suggestions
Hi Kevin, I toyed with this idea of a single hatch on my 28 when I repowered 5 years ago. Kind of wish I had moved forward with this idea. It looks like you are headed in the right direction. Gas shocks would a good choice and are affordable. If you call some of the gas piston manufacturers they can...

Anchoring
Kevin, I have the 22# Delta with 30' of 5/16"BBB chain and 1/2" rode. For the last 6 years it has been an excellent choice. It has hung up in rocks about three times but I have been able to get it out each time without loosing the ground tackle. Increasing your chain length will certainly improve th...
