It just dawned on me the B26 is straight inboard vs UVs sterndrive B25. A little additional engine weight might be insignificant where those engines set.

The other thing to think about is the B26 should be considerably lighter overall than the B28. Maybe the 170s would be adequate for a B26 if there is room to swing a big enough prop that you might need for the diesels.
