Y’all go easy on Timmy. I’m pretty sure he’s the only guy around with more non-running offshore boats than I have. I’m glad he checks in periodically with his next project. Gives me something to aspire to.
Congrats Timmy. Hope it works out well for you. Good luck on the knees as well.

Cam For another option, I use Penetrox A on my battery cables, it’s available at your local electrical supply company and is actually made for aluminum to aluminum connections in electrical work. It’s a good vapor barrier and oxide-inhibiter and keeps corrosion to a minimal on my batteries. It comes...

Steve, I imagine you’ve seen his posts, but if you didn’t, Tommy posted his brother Eddy’s B20 Sportsman on the Swap & Sell part of the board awhile back. That is a model that would make me want to deal with an I/O again. It would certainly help to keep it on a lift. I’m no fan of I/Os but for the r...

I’d have to agree with what Joseph said about regular maintenance being the key to fewer I/O problems. The folks that I’ve known who ran them successfully were on top of their maintenance. In some of our shallow canals the I/Os are needed as an alternative to outboards. I had mine years ago when I w...

Waytooslow, I’m right there with you on I/Os. Years ago when I got rid of my last I/O I made my wife promise to shot me if I ever pulled another one up in the driveway. Good luck with the B25.

Steve, We had an underwater light when we lived on a canal in here in Texas. We loved it. Most times it would either be filled with a huge tornado of small bait fish or 2-3 good sized red fish on the prowl. My wife would keep a light spinning real with a lure on it by the garage door. Bob,
Sounds like a heck of a trip. Glad you made it safe.
Tony,
If you run into Greg tell him Danny from Texas says ‘hi’ I still have the swim platform off of his boat on my CC30. Tell him I’d sure like some pictures of the Thimmel Express. He ought to log in and say hi.

One more caveat. When John had to redo the boat he didn't stay with the 170s he went with 315 Yanmars instead.
