JC- I replaced the electric head in my 31FBC with a Jabsco manual head--about $125-$150. It has worked fine for 4 years. There's very little to it. Mine goes right into a holding tank, and all I have is a pump-out hose. Overboard disposal is a really bad thing here on the Chesapeake. Hope this helps...

I just got to comment that Chimera is one of if not the cleanest 31 I've ever seen. All the angles on the half-tower and outriggers lining up like that and the bases off the gunnels makes her look really special. Is she making the trip to AC this year?

I'd like to insulate my engine boxes and wing panels this winter. It'll take me about 2 4'x8' sheets to do it. I was thinking of the one pound, 1" vinyl/foam. Does this sound OK? Is the best way to get Soundown to order it directly? Any suggestions or ideas appreciated.

I converted over to the Edelbrock 650 marine carbs and electronic ignition a couple of years ago. I looked at the Edlebrock site, and then Summitt Racing. Is the manifold you're referring to the Performer part # EDL 2161 at Summitt?

Unless you need the range, do the math on the fuel burn/cost. It'll take alot of hours over alot of years to justify a gas to diesel switch if your gassers are fine.

Rob- More water than Kentmorr--from the haulout to the Bay I think you have at least 6' MLW. Kentmorr has/had the hump just past the jetty that could get pretty tough. Thought I posted this before--guess it didn't work. I don't know how to influence public policy, especially when you look at USDA. Check out hte latest USDA IG findings. Since Talbot has never been a "blended fuel" county, I'm hoping it stays ethanol free for awhile.
