I passed on the Cummins 210s. I ran the numbers with a very reputable Cummins dealer, and we started going through gearsr, shafts, wheels, thru-hulls, exhaust--not worth it to me....but that's me. I got my rear deck out though and am redoing alot of stuff and getting a new tank. My winter project.

To me, its has nothing to do with looks, its a matter of money. You can do a nice inboard gas repower and have some $$ left over for what'll cost for a pair of outboards and a bracket. I really, really like outboards--but you'll put alot of $$ into the boat. If you really want an outboard boat, I'd ...

DoOver- If you really want to trailer, you may want to look at boats with an 8'6" beam or less--they're trailerable pretty much everywhere. The B25 has a wider beam than that, and you legally can't trailer without special permits, at least in MD. That may not be a big deal to some, or a big deal if ...

I wouldn't do it for a variety of reasons, but for the costs of twin 300 Suzukis, a bracket, all the transom work you'd need, etc., you could a nice inboard repower and have $$ left over. My 2 cents.

In addition to the B31, I think Ray Hunt designed the Wellcraft V-20 which also won some races. Lots of good hulls out of the race circuit--Formula 233 (Don Arronow) was another former raceboat hull. The 233 spawned alot of nice boats--Albe 24 and Contender to name a couple. Hatts have won races.......

Did you put the volvo tabs or other tabs on your boat? I was wonderign how much stern lift you'd get out of the volvo design vs. a more conventional tab, and how much stern lift you get out of a conventional tab anyway. Less fuel sounds good.

B31 gas tank R&R

The Anna E. is on the hard, and the tank project is about to start. I figure first step is to syphon all the gas out of the tank, take off the fittings on the top of the tank, and then stick a hose in tank and fill her up with water to make sure all the fumes are out. Sound OK?
