Can't remember where I read it, but I remember someone putting a port in the side of the engine box that they could open and spray a fire extinguisher into it. It was suggested that doing that was better than opening the hatch to fight the fire.

The issues with an automatic system is that you need to have a engine shut down connected to it. Otherwise the diesel just sucks it all in and spits it right out, so it is useless.

Fish are glutens. They will eat even if not hungry. Maybe they thought your lure just didn't belong there and was teaching it a lesson or it was just being a gluten.

I like the Blue Van with everything written in Greek and then it says Rope Work on it. LOL I guess they do work in English Speaking countries also.

Some of those lines and supports don't look like they can handle some of the stress that is put on them. More power to those guys.

Yannis I just had to have a survey of my boat which will be 50 years old next year. The insurance company wanted it to make sure she was sea worthy and to make sure the hull value on it is correct. Yannis The canvas is to protect the boat during the winter. Nothing worse than rain then it freezes on the boat and then there is the snow load. What is worse is some of the Marina's around here are beginning to lose their minds. One of the ones I thought about moving too, now no longer allows boats...

Sorry you asked for weight. Given that a 31 comes in around 12,000 lbs with the fly bridge and full gas, I would guess the 28 comes without the bridge and cabin come in around 10,000lbs.

I believe the original fiberglass tank on our boats had a gel coat finish on the inside. Remember you need to put in baffles to keep it from sloshing around.

There are some good ceramic products on the market that work well. I have had several discussions with a local Auto Detailing store about ceramic coatings. There are the ones that will get you through a season and those that will last a few years. The ones that last a few years are tricky to put on....

That's interesting that the Pile Mates extend the piling. I will have to look into them a little further. The issue I have is that during the summer the boat is docked behind the house. I tie up beam to the dock and the pilings help support the dock so I am not sure they would work in that situation...

When I talked with them at the AC Boat Show, they told me the boat is supposed to be tied as tight as you can get the lines. The only time I spent any amount of time on the boat was overnighting in the Canyons. A portable Coleman stove works wonders. We use to use it out on the back deck when we layed up at night to make dinner. To make it easy, it was usually stew made the day before and packed away in a pot in a cooler....

One other thing, I was looking at the rudders on yours, and they looked like they might still be original. You might want to check the sizing on them and if they are original you might want to update them down the road. It makes a world of difference.

If I remember correctly, the frame for each 31 seems to differ slightly, so I would think before ordering measurements would need to be taken.
