When I priced the 315's before I bought the Cummins, price was like 23 a piece then I had to buy the gauges, it was not a package. I was going ot be close to 50 without gears. The 42 you got them for sounds really cheap.

Did you try running juice right to the horn, bypassing the switch. I would think that would tell you if the horns are bad. My Ongaro's have been sitting for two years while I was repowering. Now I am wondering if they are going to work.

I think some on this board will tell you to stay away from SP. A couple of the members had bad experiences with them.

Try Patriot down in Forked River. I have seen their work. They made a tank for a 31 that is in the same yard I am. They even had it powder coated.

The overboard side needs to be locked so it can not be open as long as you are in Federal waters. Once you go beyond the boundries you can unlock it and pump overboard. If the Coast guard boards you they will check to make sure that valve is not open and can not be opened.

That's the soft NJ mud. The bottom is mostly soft mud back in those bays. If you hit a clam bed, the shells will chew the prop up pretty fast.

Be happy it peeled off. I hate the idea of blasting. Did that once. Probably should do it again but really hate the thought. I would barrier coat though. At this stage whats another weekend and a few hundred dollars more. Then you know its right. Put on an ablative and be done with it.

I take it that you glued the velcro to the deck and the bottom of the panel, then the panel sat on top of the velcro? Sounds pretty unique.

Ask Patriot about Powder Coating. They used to have a Powder Coater as a Neighbor. Not sure he is still in the same complex. When I was going to use him back in July, they temporarily had a lock on the door. Seems there was a tax problem with the state. Might be open again, so ask.

The cost of a new 31 would have to be higher than a new CABO. The only way it would be competative is if they found a way of building the mold so the tumblehome allowed them to pop the hull out of the mold easier.
