That is pretty cool. I have a length of 3/4 left from my bulkhead job, I might see if that will bend as well as the 1/2 inch. Have nothing to loose.
By the way, whose clamps are you using, I want to buy stock in that company. LOL

Huesso Your a kid. Look at all you have to look forward too. You can call Walter Raleigh and I once you cross 30 years on the old girl. We will all have a drink together. Granted, we may be in wheel chairs but you should still be walking. Harry I know, frustrating feeling. I get the same questions. ...

Ours is a 75 my father bought her knew in August of 75. I still remember picking her up. Back in 75 there were very few boats that could run with her on flat calm day. So we are coming up on 34 years. Greg, I was looking for you. By the way, we used fiberglass exhaust tubes as much as possible so ve...

NJ DMV Question on Repower
I went down to the DMV up here in North Jersey yesterday to ask them what I needed to provide them in order to change the boat registration from Gas to Diesel. They really were not sure and the lady behind the desk said to me that in the 38 years she has worked there no one has ever asked her that. ...

Bob Believe it or not I actually new that when I made my decision. The differance in fuel burn was not enough to make me go increase my cost and future maintenance. I figure if all goes well I will get offshore maybe 5 times a summer the rest will be inshore, so the burn difference should not really...

Bob I realize we have had this discussion before, and I know you did one heck of job getting Phoenix finally tuned, but for those of us that can live with a couple of knots either way, the extra 10 grand for the pair of Cummins the next size up, plus the extra money to redo the exhausts (I was lucky...

Greg Not sure were you can get that cheap, but if you want, you can take a look at mine to see what type they used. Depending on the weather and the fathers day plans, I should be on the boat at least part of the day Saturday possibly all day and at least Sunday morning. My wife and her sisters have...

Capt Pat. When you glass in the sides so the water all runs out the scuppers, do you trim down the outside stringers the 1/2 or 3/4 inch so its all level with the transome support or do you just level the shelf to the outside stringer? From the picture it looks like you may have trimmed it down then...

JP I am not saying I did not learn anything. This is the 3rd time I ran through a course of some type. Unfortunately the prior ones were too old to use for the license. Like a lot of the people here we have all been on the water a long time. I am far from an expert. I would never put my boating know...

Drifter Playing with the fuel pump will boost the HP but be carefull. You might need to do something with the aftercooler or the turbo. Like I said one thing leads to another. Like I said earlier, my dealer said the 270 got the higher HP from the pump. The pressure on the bosh is higher than on the ...

Bob Seems like a lot of changes to just get 20 HP. You would have thought that with all of those changes it would have been more than 20,HP but then the after cooler is only Fresh water cooled. I had two people who know a lot about the Cummins say the 20 was in the pump. Then went on to say cool dow...

UV The difference between the 250's and the 270's is that the 270's have the Bosch fuel pump which boosts the HP. I just had the discussion with the Cummins dealer doing my job. He just rebuilt a couple of 250's for his boat and we got on the discussion of the difference's. I asked him why he wouldn...
