Greg I am still tryng to get my wiring squared away. My attempt to use the stick up wire ties and bundle my wires to it is frustrating me. I have tried just about everything but epoxy to hold them up under the overhead. I will probaby epoxy them up so I can keep everything orderly. Plus once I got t...

Walter For all of us its coming to a State near you. Nj is considering doing the same thing. This whole thing is being pushed by the feds and the States see it as a revenue generator. So hold on to your hats. Fishing is going to become a thing of the past. The days of inviting friends out for a day ...

The shame of it is, the call a 200lb fish a big fish. There was a time that was a small fish and 500lbs was the big fish. Then you see them take that 60lbr. I understand that its a job and a living but we do not need to commercialize it on TV. Thank God they are making a come back. I have not, by ch...

Galvonic Isolater question
I am trying to finish the clean up of the repower and I need to get the 110 AC squared away. I was going to install A Galvonic Isolator then when reading the Yandini site, I see they say that now I need to a meter to the Isolator. Evidently this is now required under the ABYC rules. My question is, ...

Redrum I am just about finished with my 75 with the same engines. Just dropped it in the water. You are going to love it. Unfortunately I don't have all the wiring done so the GPS is not hooked up yet, so I can not give you the cruise numbers. For the steering I put the Sea Star in. Cylinder number ...

Bob No matter how many rods you had to remove or how many women were around you, you loved it. Nothing better than sharing the boat with the family. Consider your self lucky. Your family enjoys the boat. If they didn't you probably wouldn't have the family or possibly the boat. Its all great memories.

JR Stainless can not be used if you charter. I don't remember the name of the outfit, but there was one builder who was talked about in earlier posts, I would say about two years ago. Maybe someone will remember the name of the outfit that made the stainless tanks. Otherwise do a search. If you are ...

Andre Many years ago, when I was about 26 years old, the department I worked for at Met Life had a receptionist whom I had worked with for several years and new at the time that I was not married. John We used to fish offshore with a friend who at the time owned a 67 FBC with the 440 Chryslersor as some call them Mopars. Ours is a 75 and we had the 454 big blocks that were rated at 350 HP. My father did our friend a favor and in the late 70's he converted the distributors for him so he did no...

Like Capt. Pat said, it looks like a lot of the restoration is done for you. If the wiring is in good shape and it would just be replacing engines a pair of 270 reman cummins with transmissions would go around $40,000 not installed. If you need shafts/ struts and so on the cost will jump. By the way...

Randall Make sure the throttle cable to that Carb is operating to capacity. That is it moves enough to fully open the Carb. Make sure the butterfly is not closing on you, i had that one time. Couldn't get over 3000 RPMS but it idled fine. Also if it is a 4 barrell Carb. If it is make sure the back b...

Transmission pressure guages
Ok, I am almost there on the repower. Going to drop it in and then finish up all the odds and ends. Easier that way. Besides I have overstayed my welcome where I am right now. So here is the question, all of the guages are in, tachs, oil, temp, volt. Cummins guages and I used the old panel. I need s...

That looks like the top of Bob Lilco's head in the 6th picture. Lots of clean up. I have had good luck with soft scrub with bleach and use a very soft brush. I think this boat is beyond compound and was. Good luck guys. This is really a project boat, and beats the one that Tom purchased last year. T...

Bob We all like to see what you are doing. While it might not suit everyone's needs, I bet everyone on this board has taken one of your ideas from time to time. Besides, I like some of your ideas. Look at it this way, maybe reducing the shaft angle is not something we will do, but like hearing about...
