Tangier Walter is right. I just repowered and to do it right and if you only have weekends and winters like we have up here, and have to keep it in a Marina, you will be at it for at least two summers. Then throw in the relative issue. I mean, weddings, birthday parties ect. you could go three summe...

Luis Like everyone said, the 210 are bullet proof. If I remember right, your boat has that custom cabin that runs all the way back so you have no open cockpit area. Do you know how much the boat weighs? If the cabin added a lot of weight you need to make sure the 210's will give you the performance ...

A couple of weeks ago, a guy out of Barnaget caught them on Umbrella rigs using lures to match the hatch. Apparently they are interested in taking in a mouthfull of sand eels at a time so they ignore the single baits. The umbrella rig gives them the appearance of a school of sand eels. A friend of m...

Try Georgia Copper. I used there bonding strap. Its pretty thick as it is designed to be used as a lightning ground.

Bob When I purchased my 270 remans, and I called around to other NJ Cummins dealers, the dealer I purchased mine off of had the best price I could find, they came in at around 18 a piece with gauges and harness, the 3500 for the tranny. I know that is right on the mark as another board member who pu...

Jack They are right about that hose. If have the deck up and are pulling the whole thing apart it's not bad, but other wise a real pain. On those tabs, like Vic said, just rebed them. Resin will just make you curse at some other point in time. On the bilge pump issue, I can relate. Took a friend and...

Jack You might be able to tighten the packing gland on the rudder posts otherwise repack them. Make sure you use regular packing and not teflon. They will only leak again. I would think twice before glassing in the trim tab screws. You may need to remove them some day. I would remove the tabs and re...

Bruce People are just stupped. They buy these non natives animals as pets then dump them. Florida is begining to sound like the Amazon Jungle. Python's taking on alligators. Who would have thought. Even every once in a while someone dumps something strange up here in NJ. A couple of years ago, a guy...

First you need to figure out what your budget is and just what you want in performance and maintence. I thnk Bob is a little light on his numbers but he is right, Cummins is cheaper if you go with the remans. Yanmar and Volvos will cost more than the reman Cummins. I just put the 270's in mine and I...

It is just really strange that mine said 220 gallons and it did also show the pressure test amount. The tag was not glassed in and after beign exposed to the weather after the repower it has worn off. Unfortunatelly when they launched her after the repower I was not there. They put about 200 gallons...

I just read an article that the whole east coast has had tides running higher than normal the whole summer. It said it had to do with the postions of the sun and moon or something like that. I know that that our lagoon has about a six inch swing in tides but this summer its been running about a foot...

I know my 75 has it on the hull but when I ripped out the back end of my 75, I also found the number glassed into the center line on the transom. If you want to bypass the pattern idea, you can get a stipled effect for non skid by mixing Cabosil in the gel coat and rolling it. I think a medium knap roller works. It will give you bumps. Mine has held up 13 years. I will probably redo this spring, not because it isn't working, I just need to pr...

Rocky Unfortunately that is the way they designed it. I know they made them that way for quite a while. We bought our boat new so I know its original. It looks like they are coming after the Marine Industry again. Check out this link. This is the first I heard of this. I guess if we replace our tanks, this could impact us in the future.

Brewster Many years ago a family of racoons made a home out of our 31. They snuck in through the side panels and then into the engine box and down into the bilge.
