Re: Project boat - Triggerfish

Bruce,

I'm all over that. I clear customs @ Ft. Pierce on my way back from Bahamas, so I can definitely drop over - I'd love to stop and sit down.

I'll send you a PM; perhaps we can chat in the meantime.

Thanks a bunch.

Re: Project boat - Triggerfish

Thanks Guys. I wouldn't say it's an endless budget but I know it's gonna hurt. I've already told my crew they will sprinkle me from her when I'm gone, so for me, it's worth the stretch. She's mostly runs as a day boat, and being a Bahia, as Carl and Rick point out, she can be a bit wet when the weat...

Re: Project boat - Triggerfish

Rick,

I'd sure like to see her and pick your brain. That Cummins is one of the few on my list so that is an extraordinary offer. Triggerfish is a Bahia Mar with a tower. Wilco, I'll shoot you a note when my plans firm up to see if you're still on island.

Thanks Rick - looking forward to it.

Re: Project boat - Triggerfish

Ironworker, It really is a small world. The Triggerfish is right around the backbone from you, moored on the south end of Harbour Island. Pulling her out for the season when I get down in a couple weeks. Stop and take a look, just please don’t judge her - she tends to be sensitive to criticism. . . ...

Re: Project boat - Triggerfish

Thanks Carl - I appreciate the encouragement. Given the project St Pete isn’t that far out of line and definitely worth the investigation. I’ll certainly give them a ring. I’ll keep the thread up to date on the progress and likely pick your brain, if you’ve the time, once the power plant topic comes...

Project boat - Triggerfish

Guys and Gals, I've owned Triggerfish for about 15 years now and I love her more than most people in my life say is normal. She's in the Bahamas, which has made her a handful to keep up with, but we've made it through most of the steep learning curve relatively unscathed. While I've really enjoyed a...

Re: new member saying hello and quick question on pvc board

I'd have to ship it in either way given our remote location, so I guess I'd prefer to use Coosa if it were to last longer (downside of machining fiberglass not withstanding). Do I still have to glass over the Coosa or can I just topcoat with non-slip epoxy paint?

Re: new member saying hello and quick question on pvc board

Bob, the deck on our '31 is almost toast and I'd like to follow in your footsteps. Your deck looks perfect and I'm jealous. I have questions about your install that I was hoping you or the other members could help me with. I'm a pretty capable woodworking guy but not a fiberglasser, so I'm quite hes...

I had the same problem. Some of the new covers come with a simple plug instead of the bleeder valve, which is causing me to think it was an aftermarket valve that someone added along the way.

Thanks for the help

Serial Number

I actually have that. It is 0F224566. I get confused with the terminology, but I think it is a closed system with sea water that cools the coolant through a heat exchanger.

Thanks a bunch.

Bleed Valve - Thermostat cover - Mercruiser 7.4L

My Boat is down in the Bahamas and is undergoing a rebuild by local mechanics. Needless to say, they don't have access to mercruiser. The guys have done something with both bleed valves (the one on top of the thermostat housing) and insist they need new OEM valves. I have an old picture of the housi...

Thanks a bunch fellas! I am going to give Airmar a call and pick their brains, but thanks to all for your thoughts.

Do you have to select which frequency (50/200) you use at any given time or do the machines just figure it out and post the results?

Thanks again guys.

Transducer decision

I just bought half of my buddy's '31, and it needs a bit of electronics which is part of my buy-in. I think we're going with Garmin units, but I just can’t seem to get anyone who can give me advice on which Transducer to use. The boat is in the Bahamas, goes in November 1 and comes out in June, so...
