Re: Engine Bed Sisters...purpose of side sheets of plywood
Carl When we pulled the sisters on my boat the ply was still attached. I will look in the AM and see if can tell how. I assumed it was laminated for strength as well. but maybe it was just used as a spacer. Though the wood was pretty dang solid, we removed it and replaced with composite. He used 1 l...

Danny I agree. But man, take it easy on the guy with the small old boat! Especially when you have a yard full of 60+ footers.

I think the boat is beautiful. Looks very well done. The only think I scratched my head about was the rail around the deck. But Capt Bone is right, outboards are easy to work on, less maintenance, efficient, can trailer the boat easier, etc. My buddy had a very nice 28 Albemarle with twin yanmars. He...

I know normal teflon tape is not rated for natural gas, there is gray teflon tape.

John they are straight configuration. On my boat the engines were sloped down and there was a wedge adapter so the carb would sit level. That also seems to be the case in the service manual I have it shows them as a straight through. There is a difference in the rotation of the pump though.
