Scot, They literally burn all waste, electrically. The only "discharge" is ash, which is collected in a liner that can be taken out once a week - with heavy use - and dumped in the regular garbage. I don't know what it smells like while processing waste, but if it works as advertised - approved by t...

Wayne, They make them in Fort Worth, Texas, and I've been in contact with the company (trying to get a discount). John, I think most of the high rpm diesels like the ones you listed use 2:1 gears in a 31 Bert application. I've mentioned I'm happy with the 1.91:1 Twin Disc 5011A gears I have now, although I had troubles with the 1.45:1 ratio in the same gear. I'm sure either a ZF or TD will work for you, the 501...

Depends on how hard it is to get your cabin sole out for access, first. Mine is a bit difficult. Wouldn't want to need to get in there offshore with a boatload of people. Also, there are ventillation considerations, and potential height of water in the bilge to ponder. When mine was gas, I had the b...

Doug, although it usually wouldn't hold you back quite that much, exhaust restriction will also keep you from turning full rpm. I found out the hard way on my repower that if the exhaust can't get out as it should, fuel won't go in as it should. This is sort of an oversimplification, but you need go...

Tim-m-m-m-m-y, I have the cabin roof off a 31 express (not mine) that would make a nice hardtop for a Tubb Express. Then you'd be a part Bertram owner (or a Bertram part owner?), and Dick could give you the "Secret Woid". It's roughly 6 feet long and something over eight feet wide.

I think it is Japanese humor. Much like the term Karioake originally meant "Car full of drunk tourists from Oklahoma", these engines were so named that when their owners passed slower boats - usually Detroit diesel powered - they could yell back in their wake, "Nanni, nanni, nanni!"

The 31 Bahia Mar hardtop is pretty common on the Texas coast, more common that the open Bahia Mar, for some reason - probably because it's drier to steer. Like Bruce said, the bridge is almost certainly an add-on.
