Gert,

I saw Island Girl coming into Monte-Carlo just now and I raced down to say hello but sadly you weren't onboard. She looks great! Hope you're having a good trip.

It's funny to think there will soon be another Island Girl in these waters! This picture was taken when she first arrived in Monaco and before being registered here. As Tommy rightly said she is now called Orca and you'll see her in Cap D'Ail if you head this way, where there's also a Bahia Mar call...

Thanks for your replies

Pretty much all the dials are original (unless Tommy Drake tells me otherwise!) and the chrome rims are cleaning up nicely. The black paint is peeling now thus the need to renew it and it sounds like its just a matt finish that's needed as confirmed by Pete

Instrument panel

Guys,

I'm taking off the instruments to work on the chrome work around the dials and will also repaint the instrument panel. Can anyone tell me what the original finish for the instrument panel was? Just a black matt paint?

Thanks

Orca (ex Island Girl)

As some of you may remember I took on the stewardship of Tommy Drake's Island Girl last year. She's been renamed Orca and is lying in Monaco. I took these pics on a recent trip to Corsica and I thought I would share them with you. During the winter she was painted with Awlgrip and many external fitt...

Island Girl - thank you!

As some of you will have read a couple of months ago I purchased the 1972 SF Island Girl from Tommy Drake. Island Girl just crossed the Atlantic to Genoa and arrived at her new home in Monaco last night. Tommy and Eddy Drake, who had kept her in immaculate condition during their long ownership, prep...

Thanks, appreciate the advice. Whilst shipping will cost a bit at least I'll get the job the done rather than taking the risk and expense over here!

New member - window replacement

Good afternoon to you all and hello from Monaco in Europe. I am in in the process of completing the paperwork on a 1974 B31 SF and I'm trying to get a list of works in my mind that I want to do over the next few weeks. One thing I'm appreciate your advice on is to do with the curved windscreen windo...
