Ideal reduction ratio for 6LY
Hello, I have a pair of 6LY 315hp @ 3300RPM coupled to 220A 1:5/1 reduction ratio on my 31b project boat. During the mechanical revision of the boat, one of the transmissions is bad. I will replace it but have the opportunity to change the reduction ratio and invest on replacing the good one. My boa...

Re: Ressurection of the "Pepper"
Thanks for the reply,
Do you recall how much did you moved fwd, also seems that you raised the bed level. What’s the distance from the ceiling?
My project 31 has no interiors and I’m debating the interior design. Inclining to place the bathroom on the starboard side fwd

Re: Ressurection of the "Pepper"
Hello Rick,
Great project!
I wanted to go back to the Vbirth area and ask you if you relocated the fwd bulkhead forward or left it in place?

Elite marine genset location
Does anyone know how elite marine get around to locate the genset at the center of the boat behind the engines. Do they reduce the size of the fuel tank? I can’t upload a pic that I saw on their Facebook page. The created a very neat hatch for the genset

Re: Would you pass on a Prop tunneled B31
Good evening, I was able to track down two prior owners of 31 Bertrams with Cabrera tunnels installed. One of them had the boat until only two month ago. He told me that he was hesitant to buy the boat at first because of the tunnels but after using the boat he really liked the way the boat behaved....

Re: Would you pass on a Prop tunneled B31
I forgot to mention, I am used to doing modifications and testing. My 43’ was done completely and I was able to make it a37 knot boat and was on plane at 11.5 knots. On the other hand, if I buy it I’ll take all the weight transfer recommendations and test different props to see what happens. If anyo...

Re: Would you pass on a Prop tunneled B31
Well, The boat right now is a project boat and can’t sea trial it. It was one of the first done at Cabrera’s facilities and spent a lot of time fishing in the Caribbean. I just sold my 43’ Bertram and bought a 630 and would love to have the 31 as the little Bertram. I really like that it has all the...

Would you pass on a Prop tunneled B31
As the tittle say. I have access to a cabrera project boat with pockets and 315 yanmars installed at a fair price. I will use it as a day boat in calm waters mostly. Would you pass on it?
Alberto.
