ethanol free fuel in Florida
Several marinas in the Ft Lauderdale/Pompano area claim that their gas is ethanol free.
My tank is aluminum, but is there an easy way to test for ethanol in gas ?
(feel free to move to "ethanol related" section, I just wanted this to be seen)

Re: Another Builder Gone
I had a 27 Blackfin with 2/.225 optimizes and I would have put it head to head with a 28Bert any day....and it was way faster. But the outboards don't fish as "neatly" as an inboard. I just start to gag when I see the trips and quads.

Re: Another Builder Gone
I think a trip to one of the boat shows might change your thoughts on the outboards. They are going with quad 300s in some cases and the center consoles are now in the 40' range and seriously fast. I told one builder in Lauderdale that I'm old school and if it needs more than 2 outboards it should h...

True .... forgot those guys Is Post gone too ? But, when you look at these and those manufacturers, they all made the same type of boat. The market has gone to the 35' triple outboard center console, which all seem to be manufactured in Florida or the Carolinas. Regulator, Contender, Intrepid, Invin...

I believe that the originals were strips of teak in an aluminum frame
It may be "corny", but I would like to find a pair ...... anyone know who made them or where they can be gotten ?

I had heard same thing.
Ocean and Viking are down the road from each other on the Jersey shore and Viking seems to be doing gangbusters.
The middle priced large sportfish market (Ocean) is gone .... those folks now buy a 35' center console with triple 300s.

While at the show, John H. asked me about residences in Lauderdale. There are nice garden apartment co-ops, midway between Hillsboro inlet and Port Everglades that are approx. $125k for a 1br/1.5bath or $200 for a 2/2. There was no completed new B35 at the show.
There was a short promo film that showed a lot about the new boat and gave a lot of history on Bertram.
There was a B31 that was nicely redone.
There were tasty free rum drinks.

The Flintstones were and are an American classic. An animated, stone aged version of the Honeymooners. Hope it is still ...

I was BERTRAMP before I had the Blackfin.
The outboards were just a different approach....
27 Blackfin w inboards and 28 Bertram w inboards, both decent rides and the Blackfin might even out perform in sloppy conditions.
31 is a different story
