I am missing one of my windshield front closing bolts ... the ones that pivot and close with a wing-nut. Anyone know where they can be gotten ?
I'm in Lauderdale
thanks

I was referring to the window that is openable from inside the cabin, not the windshield triangular side window. Charlie ... did you do a seal of sorts on that side rectangular window ? Bob ... amazing how similar our boats are. When I bought mine, it was in a shop very similar the picture you poste...

Bahi Mar windows
I have a 1970 Bahia Mar. My cabin side windows are rectangular. I have seen pictures of some Bahias with an almost footballish shaped window (see the Bahia picture from Tropic Star) ... did the windows change at som point or are these an aftermarket modification ?
thanks

I've done work on boats that I never would have wanted to do on a house. On the house, in most cases I would find a contractor and write a check if I could. The time spent crawling in a bilge or with a paint roller lying underneath a boat is GOLDEN. If you don't LOVE boats, owning one makes absolute...

I presently own a 31 Bahia Mar. Years ago I owned a FBC. I sold the FBC after going away to Connecticut for a four day Columbus weekend and having it rain for three of the days. It was myself, my wife at the time (now "the ex") and my son who was around six or seven. That cabin got REAL SMALL, REAL ...

I am back and forth between lauderdale and long Island about 15 - 20 times a year. ISLIP is the way to go. There are car rentals. The only problem is that not a lot of airlines fly there. I use Southwest and it works fine for me ... not sure who else flies there. If coming by boat from NJ and tower ...

I think the "eagle logo" / with "BERTRAM" under it / and "31" under that would do it. Basically what Bob Lico has with a "31" under i,. then it covers us often forgotten bahia mar guys and express guys. There is a company called GulfStreamGear that is at most of the big shows. They have done transom...

As for airport ... I would recommend flying into ISLIP (MacArthur) airport on Southwest. The east end of Long Island is an extra hour away if you fly into Kennedy or LaGuardia. And because Islip is smaller, it tends to have fewer delays. You will need a ride or a car rental from ISLIP. Other side is...

I did get my boat, but Rich and Elite were bad news. He saw my comments on the Hatteras site and seemed shocked that I would be kinda pissed about the poor way that he does business. The police seem like the only alternative when your boat is "missing" that amount of time. I too noticed that Elite h...

Ok so I have this 1970 Bahia Mar down here in Lauderdale. The cabin has the original white (can't believe I even have the nerve to call it that) carpet on the walls of the V-berth. I could probably do a spary on carpet shampoo and wet vac treatment a few times and clean it up some, but what is a bet...

I've met Billy many times ... superstar, yes .... but when you meet him on the docks, he's a regular guy and a very knowledgeable boater. Cummins 8VT370s are 370 HP. They were the 4 stroke option in 45 Hatteras boats of the early 1970s. Their equivalent that you would know, that went into those 45 Hatts were 8v71 detroits. The Cummins were a good engine, but parts are getting difficult and they are WAY big for a B31. I don't see how t...

I have a 1970 Bahia Mar. My window frames are actually in good condition, but the gasketing is pulling out and dry. Is new gasketing available or should I caulk the entire thing ?
thanks

boat transport Southampton, NY to Ft Lauderdale, FL
I wanted to make folks aware of some of the good and bad in boat transport. Deep Water Transport ... the good ... picked boat up on time, base station always answered phone, trucker called and notified where he was and when he would be at delivery spot. Trucker Don, backed a big trailer like a true ...

I went to register my new 1970-B31 in FLA. The boat had previously been a NY boat. It came with a transferable registration, which is pretty standard for NY, but the numbers on the registration other than the NY registration numbers did not seem to me to be hull ID numbers. The boat is pre the starb...
