312 designates the open model (Moppie) 313 = hardtop model 314 = sport fish model 315 = fly bridge cruiser 316 = Bahia Mar model 317 = express model Looks like you have Fly Bridge built in 1998. Normally the model is the last three sets of numbers. Since yours was built before 72 it is not stamped ...

I had a FBC years ago, also a great boat ... but I love the BAHIA. No snaking of cables, easy to single hand and if kept simple (ie .. no generator or air) its like a big center console. Reality is that most are not super comfortable "living" in the interior of a FBC either.

I looked for the "Lee's" stamp and it's not there, that's why I asked. I can mesaure the cutout and hole pattern and with that maybe determine the origins.

At different points, I owned a 28 fbc and a 31 fbc ... interior space was pretty much the same. The extra 3' was cockpit. Personally, I would go a 28, 31 or 33 ... and pass on a 30, but that's my (humble ?) opinion.

I have Bahia, so it has no problems being trucked. If you go with a FBC and need it trucked, it may be more difficult. And if you do have it trucked, DO YOUR HOMEWORK ... my experience was a nightmare.

Funny, but when I was looking, there really were not as many 31s in FLA as I thought there might be. I wound up with a boat from Long Island, NY ... as did Marlin and we are both here in FL.

The 30 was the boat that Bertram thought would replace the 31 ... the production run was shortlived. The 33 and 28 were big successes, the 30 kinda missed the mark.

With a 70hp, 15s can be scarey fast .... a 60 is fine. A 15 is a lot more boat than a 13, due to the "V" entry on the hull and will not "beat ya up" as much as a 13 when it's choppy. Both GREAT boats and at that price a nice addition to any fleet. I used to run my 13 or 15s from Sag Harbor to Greenp...
