Bob .... no 1992s were made. I gotta think its a 1972 or 1973 ... maybe early 1974. Do you know when USCG started the starboard side transom stamping mandate ? Once the outside transom numbers started, the year had to be in the number stamp, so I would think that the format changed some. Whats your ...

Charlie ... I figured it was approximate 67 or 68 based upon the number. I doubt they made the exact same number every year. I think rule of thumb is approx 100 a yr., but they probably made 75 some years and 125 others. The numbers just "kinda get you there". I wonder what the first boat was that g...

charlie ... you have hull #757. by that time, it seems the numbering got better. my 1970 hull is marked 316-1007 316 is Bahia ... we know that Once they got the numbering together with the 31#-#### format, you can almost just go to the first digit after the "-" 7xx approx 1967 7=7approx 1969 is prob...

If you figure that they made just under 2000 hulls from 1961 through 1983 and that 1961 (and probably 1983) were possibly/probably not full production years, they made approximately 100 a year. Based on that, I still believe (no proof) that Capy's "535" is actually hull #35 and from 1961 and Walter'...

Well mine was bought as a 1973 model FBC. I never was able to find any hull numbers back in 1987 until I called Richard Kidd @ Bertram and then looked down on the inside of transom and find a date of 10-23-67 glassed in and then find the number #605 on the inside of the pilaster panel in which Rich...

hey guys ... thanks for jumping on this again. It's a GREAT reference for all of us. To me it's interesting to know exactly what hull number went fro model yr to model yr and changes that may have been made at a specific hull #. When we look back and ask ... "oh yeah, didn't so and so own that boat ...

I ran a B28 that I once owned halfway down LI Sound, through "the gut" and inside the Sag Harbor breakwater and under the bridge all on plane and straight to the travel lift due to a lost bottom of transducer. Funny ... on plane, you don't get much water, but the minute you go to idle you get water ...

In my travels, I just came accross a Bertram 20 hull with trailer for $500. There is no power, but reportedly the transom was just rebuilt (I was not dressed for a bilge crawl). It is a standard moppie. Are folks putting brackets and outboards on those these days ? Is there a small diesel I/O that w...

transducers
My boat is a 1970 Bahia and seems to have never had a depth finder. I want/need one. I also hate extra holes in boats.
Can a transom mounted transducer work on a 31 ?
How are the in hull transducers ?
If I go with a thru-hull (which I would rather not), where and how is best placement ?
thanks

Rod holders on the transom gunwale
I would like to add two rod holders to the gunwale along the transom of my Bahia Mar. I don't think they were stock on 31s, but I'm sure some of you already have done this addition. Will any angle of Lee holder fit ? Will the backing plate fit too ?
thanks
thanks

The wife and I were sitting around the breakfast table one lazy Sunday morning. I said to her, "If I were to die suddenly, I want you to immediately sell all my stuff." "Now why would you want me to do something like that?" she asked. "I figure that you would eventually remarry and I don't want some...
