You done good Captain. You've made a huge impact on my life by sharing yourself so freely. You set the standard for good stewards to follow. I hope you find peace in knowing you made this world a better place for a bunch of us. I hope to pass that example on.

No rush Pete, they'll be waiting for you when you're ready to remount them. Love watching the progress . The other boats get older but yours looks better every year. As for anyone with a Stamoid top, I would call the distributor and ask for the cleaner and conditioner along with special care instruc...

I was told to keep an eye on the system behind it as well. None of the models show it as heading our way yet but some of the weather nerds are having fun playing "what if". Conditions could develop that will make it a biggie around 10/9. Probability is close to zero right now but it's something to k...

I have your outriggers and bases. I also have a set of double spreader outriggers currently being used as flagpoles. They might be happier on a boat.
If you plan on redoing your top be careful with your choice of fabric. Stamoid doesn't last if pollutants are allowed to settle on it.

Mine was sealed with silicone. I used a razor knife and made one deep cut around the deck. It came out pretty easy.

I ended up using a chisel and a stone to keep it sharp. It wasn't a fun job and at first the chisel might seem like too small of a tool, but each pass of the chisel removed all the paint at once. It took it off in chunks so it kept the dust down and the only noise was grunts and groans with a few cu...

I always thought the bathroom was a space waster on the 28. I was kicking around the idea of re arranging the footprint and recessing the bowl into the interliner against the port side with the sink above it. Or maybe catty corner the bowl and sink. No reason for all that elbow room and frankly I li...

Ok guys, I found the file and I'll be sending emails tonight. If you don't get an email from me by 9 then I screwed up your address. Feel free to mock me. Quick story about 120ac. I was hired to finish a job on an older boat. When I got to the marina I found out the guy who started the job got elect...

Re: B28 - wiring diagram
I have the manual for a 1973 28 fbc. Send me an email address and I'll send the scanned pages. The wiring is pretty robust throughout these boats and as Bruce said the problem is rarely in the middle of the wire run. If the wiring s a mess after 40 years of fixes at least these schematics will give ...

I've always wanted to reduce the footprint of that bathroom. I was kicking around the idea of recessing the head into the interliner, kind of an outhouse look. I was thinking of a curved door as well. Alot of wasted space in the cabin that can be reclaimed. Good luck with the project.

They can't use the drone in a commercial enterprise. You however can operate one as a private citizen enjoying your hobby. Make them an offer for one of their drones and have them plug in the address for their new drone friendly drive through beer store. That's got to be one helleva powerful machine...

There is a lot of extra room that can be freed up on the 28. At one point I was going to rip out the interior, reduce the footprint of the head and reclaim the wasted space behind the cabinets. But after a bunch of years of using the boat I found that I'm never in the cabin. I also started to have m...

I had a complete failure of a 5 year old Stamoid top. The outside surface that was exposed to the environment became chalky and then brittle and flaky. The Stamoid Rep said they have had issues with proximity to airports and I would guess any industrial pollutants. If I get another Stamoid top I wou...

Re: Another AC question, where to locate the cooling outflow
I tee'd mine into the sink drain. It tends to run down the side of the hull quietly instead of streaming out like a bilge pump. The normal outflow seems to be just above the waterline and close to the ac unit. Hearing the telltale of water flow can be a good thing during jellyfish season. On the dow...

I oiled my deck and it's a twice yearly maintenance item now. If had had to do it again I would opt for the gray. A carbide blade in the chop saw will last as long as you don't force the cut, same with drill bits. The Ipe tends to clog the flutes of the drill so if it's not cutting pull out and clea...
