just wanted to mention your your name (incoming) would cause quite a pucker factor in jan.1968 . that being said either your primary or secondary fuel filter can cause the engine not come to rated rpm.

two 67,one 71,one 73 and one 79 cut out for transducer same distance from keel 73,71,67 were exactly 3/4" and 79 about 1/16" less .for the record the 79 -38 foot convertible is 5/8" i have a few 2" cut outs you can see but why bother this is exact.

exactly what bruce says. i built a fore and aft cradle and muffler has 1/2" clearance from top of muffler to bottom of deck.no problem the muffler is as cold as the ambient water temperature of ocean or whatever body of water you are in!!!!!!!!
