tony there are many knock offs that can be used in car, truck installation but the " bomb-proof" oil relocation kit i illustrated is a Cummins unit with bullet proof oil hose fittings, Can you imagine if a oil hose let go while underway! Cummins only makes one for 6BTA/6CTA.

thanks for the back -up Pete your "spot on". we all know manufacturers sometimes make quick fix gadgets that don`t do the job,An case in point is using a wedge under the carburetor in a inboard boat engine installation at a acute angle. What makes you think cylinder 1 and opposing 2 are going to get ...

Re: Original 454 Crusaders Straight or Down Angle??
my personal opinion is ALL the yesteryear 61,62,63 series velvet drives will not be rated for 496" at 525 pounds of torque. you will need to up- grade to ZF 63 A . they have an 8 degree down angle which will allow you to LOWER the engines and place further back toward cockpit. Carl will explain all ...

i wish you would have ask me as to camshafts when you built this 496" Hopefully you went with a marine roller cam. you never have to worry about ZINC additives in the oil.and increase low end torque. with fuel injection you can equal diesel fuel economy . you will easely exceed a 4 cyl. yanmar in pe...

excellent torque curve due to 496" being a "stroker" back off to 3000rpm for fuel economy -----it is all about Torque !!!!! in a 13,000 pound boat,hp is for race boats with a small amount of hull left in the water.

496" is still the best combo to this day. high end double A fuel dragster at 10,000hp for less than 4 seconds and pro stock and funny car. at 6 seconds running time, mostly due to bore/stroke ratio . john if i had a gasser it would be a 496 i am a strong believer but fuel injection of course , like ...
