mike that commercial box has a 500 lbs capacity and you fill about 3/4 full ice and salt water roughtly 400 lbs. the datum line would be about 3' from bilge that is a 1200 foot pound center of gravity change to a 31 Bertram so it would increase roll but help centerline balance with 4cyl yanmar engin...

good point carl but keep in mind there is a "happy medium" that is a 2.5kw generator along side port engine.ASSUMING every 31 Bertram would never put waste holding tank in cabin and they did do the right thing and place alongside starboard engine on shelf.

i will lay out the whole job with your input as to the A/C circuits needed as well as the all important ground isolated.really makes it easy when you can actually see the work rather then some dude in front of a class giving a speech and most going over a laymans head.

year mike i have a 3db with A/B switch along with 9DB but have never used it.the hand held is convient and on dashboard.i also get 30 miles with the 9DB. mounted on the side of bridge with upper and lower mounts for strenth and 4' extra height over gunnel mount.

not only premature wear but you could actually burn out the transmission if you raise the rpm of the engine as to go on plane or most likely forget you have trolling valves engaged. most installers use a red light above the pull/push cable to indicate trolling valve engaged.

the gear ratio could be 1.75 but the use of a ZF 220- IRM with a 2.0 ratio would indicate the PO. purchased a used engine out of another boat and just used the gears that were on it like a 38' or larger or heavier.

carl are you saying john had a 496 big block built in counter rotating ? i have no knowledge of a roller cam or any performance camshaft for a counter rotation big block.that is really old school i doubt any engine builder would recommend one.
