The plate on the inside had some grooves in it and I reversed it, which made a big difference.

If I run a K&N and clamp the rubber right to the turbo inlet there is a chance of it melting.

K&N Air Filter

I did a quick search here and did not come up with anything. I was thinking about using a K&N Aire Filter on my Holset Turbo intake on my 4BT's.

You can just loosen the jack stand and slide it over one way or the other to paint the spot.
That should prevent the boat from tipping, the jack stand will basically remain in place in case the boat is tipsy.

I use 4 jack stands on my B28 and try to very careful, these boats are very heavy.

How about this: The two fittings off the main pickup tubes (the outside ones) have fittings that have check valves in them before the shutoffs. I could probably run it like this and not have to ever turn any valves. I can shut the valves if I had to though. I dont see any snags and fuel for the pump...
