Re: 68' Scully SF has electronic control failure, hits dock

I've run a few boats with electronic controls including an 83' yacht. Once you get the "feel" of the controls it's a non issue. They also work great when working a big fish. I'm thinking of putting them on my Bertram this winter actually

Re: Cutlass Dory

That model came from the factory with a 327, 210 hp motor. But if the 318 runs it well, they are great motors too. Just change the oil every fifty hours. My CC Cutlass Dory is the rare 1978 Cuddy Cabin model. Great boat! Just bought a 78 Center Console model too with a 350 c in Crusader. Runs like ...

Walter, If you haven't already, try eBay. I've had great luck finding odd parts and items there.

Has anyone had any experience with this stuff? Thinking about using it as material for bulkhead between the cockpit and cabin on my Chris Craft Cutlass Dory. Would it also work as decking material on my 31? If so, should it be West systemed? any other ideas?
Thanks very much.

Billy has never owned a Bertram. As a true and very knowledgeable boat lover, he realizes the 31 is a near perfect boat, but he has never owned one, nor has any corp. he was involved in. Sorry.

Cutlass Dory

The filter is not close at all. Maybe a different mount. In any event, if it isn't the filter, it's the starter. Had a 23 Mako i/b that I had to put at least 1 starter in each season because of bilge water. Like women, they've never designed the perfect boat yet, although the 31 comes very close. Co...

No. Although I did stop and look at it. My days of wood boats are long gone, ...... well except maybe a Merritt, Scarborough, etc. some day. That was a pretty boat in Southold and I have wondered where it ended up. Mine is a cuddy cabin model and was in a yard in Hampton Bays. The guy used to run it...

Cutlass Dory

Bought another 'classic' this season. A Chris Craft Cutlass Dory, cuddy cabin model. It's in really good condition, but I want to 'fine tune' a bunch of things and really make it a pretty boat. Does anyone have any information on these boats or know where I can get some? Pictures? If so, I'd really ...

Fisher's Is. 31's

There have always been at least 3 down there in West Harbor. Families use them for fishing and also to go back and forth to the mainland. I was there last week and I think there were 5 in the harbor including the one blocked up at Pirates Cove.
