Like Tony asked, how old are the engines,? I thought most of the older Mercs had an external resister wire built into the wire harness.

Ronco plastics were always 3/8" while the Todd tanks were either 1/4" or 5/16". Thicker is better. Not so much for strength but stopping odor permeation.

I used to use Godfrey zincs. Then I had one that after an entire year in the water it still looked brand new. Then I hauled & next year put it on the opposite shaft. End of that season it STILL looked brand new. Threw it away & stopped using Godfrey.

Art, if you're talking about a tank in a B33 SF there is a foto with dimensions at this site. Scroll down about 6 posts. We pulled this tank from a 1985 SF. It was a 315 gal. tank. Forget the idea of a bladder inside the tank. There are 6 interior baffles held in with rivets covered with fiberglass....

It might be heat related. Pick up a can of duster at Staples & try spraying the distributor next time it happens. That should cool it down. Suggest you wear a rubber glove when you do it.

P.S. read the can label & make sure it does not use butane as a propellant.

Great work. I noticed though that it appears the distance from cutlass to prop seems a little large. Maybe it's just the foto. The thing that 1st caught my eye was the name Amphitrite.
