Stuart,
I can vouch for this company. Have purchased from them several times & they ship quickly & have a good product. My heat exchangers were also for Merc 454s.

Suggestion for posting fotos
Hey everyone, Can I make a suggestion that you resize your fotos down to a little smaller size. That way everyone would not have to scroll back & forth trying to read the posts. Sometimes it is also very difficult to figure out the details in a picture when you can't see the whole picture at one tim...

I've had a Bruce & now I have a 35 lb Kingston. (Delta knockoff) In rocky areas the Bruce was easier to get caught in rocks & then difficult to free up. On both of them I've also snagged lobster trawls in 100' water. (Lobster trawl could have 5 > 10 traps on a trot line) With all that weight I had a...

Don't remember exactly the years, but the 454s from around 1999 to 2002 had a serious problem with injestion. Some Sea Rays, Albemarle & Cruisers had to have engines replaced several times. Sea Ray 31 in particular. Engines were mostly Mercs but also some Volvos. Apparently the engine installation l...

The 454s in my 1978 B33 have stamped on the Merc decal on the valve covers that WOT is 3800 rpm. The Bert manual that came with my boat has the operations chart showing Bertram testing the B33's with gas motors to a WOT of 4000. My last boat was a 1984 & the operating spec for the Merc 454 was 4100 ...

I investigated the Egg 33 before I bought my B33. I believe it was in the Powerboat Bible that pre-81 was a different hull shape. That made it a roller & a 14 > 16 kt boat. After 1981 they were much better speed wise. I was also told that even up to the late 80's windows & cabin sides were subject t...

Scooter, by the time you cut open the tank, grind out all the baffle rivets, then grind the tank surface down to clean uncontaminated glass, do your coating & then figure out how to resecure the baffles, then glass the top back on; it's cheaper & easier to just have a new tank made & install it. Do ...

John, two of us B33 owners had new SS tanks made at Nautic. I wanted Nautic Doug to put flanges on my tank so I could fasten yo the bulkhead. Doug said that was a strict NO-NO. The tank would suffer from "oil-canning" & subsequentl metal fatigue. He said to cover the bottom of the tank with undercoa...

I just recently cut up my 1978 B33 tank. For the last few years I had been getting a lot of "coffee ground" material in my Racors. Upon cutting up the tank I found that those particles were from the rivets rusting. The rusting also allowed gas to penetrate BETWEEN the layers & start the delamination...

We have two B33's we are converting over to stainless gas tank. One is a SF. Once the tabbing was cut loose, the tank lifted straight up. On my 1978 FBC, I had to cut out the aft bulkhead to pull the tank. That will be getting glassed back in after the new tank is in. I will only be able to glass fr...

Ricks 1985 B33 SF took some real serious persuasion to break it free. So...

I believe you are over estimating the total weight. (Unless your tank is made from concrete) Gas weighs 6.25 lbs per gallon. That makes the weight of your tank over 1000 lbs. I know you want the max fuel, but you might consider reducing tank dimensions by 1" in all directions. Nothing is straight on...
