I guess than we are on the same page, but am not sure. My take is the comercial lobby says there are lot's of fish, the nmfs not so much. I can't speak for the rest of the country, but I can gaurentee that in in Florida between Tampa and Pensacola the comercial snapper fisherman's take is two or thr...

Is there "ANY" possibility that the comercial fishermen would find what "THEY" were over fishing if they had the only call?.........................Just wonderin. I find it hard to believe that they would limit themselves. I can tell you that in Florida comercial fishermen fought the "BAN THE NETS" ...

I like the Ocean Deck. Granted it's touristy, but it's right on the beach, the women will be in bikinis, and it's a fun place to hang. You can walk down to the beach, go for a swim, and walk back up to your table. I'm also looking to see Martin win, although I can no longer watch nascar live, the co...

The center bilge is where I mount them. That's the lowest, on center, at admidships, and best balanced area for the weight. Easy access, plenty of room, and best location from the standpoint of the moment of inertia, (countering side to side roll). Capt. Patrick, I actually think that mounting weig...

Sim, while I prefer a more of a home town place, I'll have to say Emerils was very good. I had the Double cut pork chop w/sweet potatos and the wife had Dusted shrimp. We both had salads and split the BBQ Shrimp appetizer and Huckelberry tart dessert. The food was excellent, as was the service. We h...

With the DRI conference, a Georga-Tulane football game and the Voo Doo festival it was not easy to get to every place suggested, maybe next time for the rest. Vic, I did get to go to Bon Ton for lunch: salad, onion rings, etouffee and a jumbolia appetizer. I loved it, as did the wife. ACME seafood h...

I'm in New Orleans for the new 2 days (leaving Saturday), is anything going on worth knowing about? I'm tagging along with the wife on a conference and have a lot of time to kill. I picked up my twic card today, pretty painless really. A tip for the east coast guys, when you go to pick up (activate) you card, go in the morning. Mike, do you leave you engines running when anchored up? I can see that as pretty good security, but I gotta say that would suck for me. Back a few years ago I would go diving with a buddy and leave the boat empty,(I know, stupid) until we misjudged the current and popped up about 300 yards away dow...

DQ, I have a Raymarine ST8001 (same as yours but with a knob) and mounted the fluxgate in the ceiling. It works fine and stays dry and easy to run the cables. I think it's better there than in the bilge.

UV, you are joking about the alcohol in the cold water..........right? I don't want anyone to think thats a good idea, cuz it aint. RH, I have a 20,000# Boat lift US lift which I think is as good as any. I went with wood bunks (wish I went with the a...

Get a second opinion at least. Som...

JP, I would hardly consider West Marine anyones local store. I'll bet there one of the largest marine on-line distributors around. I work just across Salt Creek from Elite Marine and stop in to look over the 31's in progress. I don't think Carl is doing any more underwater exhausts, but the external rudders are popular.
