E-bay bidding
Dug, you have a point about E-bay being an open forum where anyone can bid. I however will not bid against anyone from this site who notifies us of there interest in something, and would be dissapointed in anyone who did. My guess is, you wouldn't either, so it's just a values think, either you have...

Just want to let everyone know about how good Tim @ Down Jersey Marine is to deal with. I'm in Tampa and all the work was in Jersey but he handled everything great and was very fair cost wise. I would recomend him to anyone. In hind sight, I should have had him handle the shipping, but I think it's ...

I have read in the past about people looking for a flybridge, Carl @ Elite Marine is now building exact bolt-on replacements for the 31. The only difference from the original is he has added the new dash set-up which can hold 10"-12" screen equipment (Raymarine C & E series, Garmin 2010 etc.). I jus...

You guys are right about Supermex, it looks great, and the interior is nicer than the exterior, just not completed yet. Vic, that is the air intake aft of the side window, pretty trick. The top is also the nicest I have seen, and want to get the same for mine. The side exhaust is the third one I hav...

Hull Question
Were the 31 hulls laid up in two pieces, then glassed together, or were the molds two piece with the hull laid up as one then the mold split? I have heard both at different places and am not sure which is correct. While it would seem more like the two piece mold would be the eaiser choice, I always ...

Lookin good Tim, I am a little disappointed you didn't give us any inside floor shots though. If you can do without the side port holes, it will look nicer, they really date the hull. In the end it's going to be nice, damn sure is a big boat, no wonder you think a 31 is a RLDT! Scott

O.K., you guys have driven this down to such a low level that it's not worth arguing. If you want to believe more water piled up adds resistance, good for you. Just make sure you don't dive to deep, you won't be able to get back up, don't anchor deeper than 100' or you'll loose yor anchor to the wat...

Flopper Stoppers
Think about this, if water depth increased lifting resistance, your anchor would be almost impossible to pull up in deep water, and would get eaiser as it came up, and ya know that ain't so.

All right Bruce, your one of the smartest guys on the board, and I'm sure I'll regret this, but I'm going to have to disagree with ya on this one. First, I think the flopper stoppers work against the resistance thru water, not the weight of the water column, unless you lifting them out of the water....

I have seen several older hatteas cabin boats made into express boats with great results. I would love to have one of them, but it does require a lot of work, which I am to lazy to do. Bruce, I was looking @ www.aquamet.com/ I just noticed 17 & 22 were the same strength ratings, the boat sits on a lift so I didn't know if the corrosion resistance was an issue. I'll go with the 22 anyway, just wondering if I would notice the difference.

Thanks guys, I won't be needing them for a while. I still didn't get any info about the 17 vs. 22 though, all the specs. including torsion are the same in the 1 1/4 to 2" range. I guess everyone buys the 22 for a good reason, I'll follow suit.

You won't be helping yourself with a hot buss in the aft area unless what your powering either has a switch aft or is hot all the time. If you are in a (for profit) business, why would you be in a hurry to find more oil, or build more refineries, which would only cost you money to lower your profit? If I was the CEO, I would want oil scarce, refineries over capacity, and hold reserves til later.
